My summer garden has turned into an autumn garden with the cool, wet days of fall and the sinking of the sun below the forest that lies to the south of me. I gathered the last of the faithful marigolds and along with red maple leaves, windfall leaves, some rusty objects and a few onion skins and eucalyptus leaves (in the very bright bundle) had a great day of dyeing with a couple of friends.
And I dyed a bit of paper.
This summer a friend gave me some dahlia flowers from her garden. I made a dye bath that amazingly gave colour for eight exhaust baths. Here's a range of the beautiful colours.
